Angel Tag Project

Angel Tags will be distributed on Thursday, October 14 at Woodside Country Club from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and at several upcoming W.O.W. events.  Angel Tags will support the following charitable organizations:  Child Advocacy Center of Aiken, Children’s Place North Aiken Elementary School, Aiken Senior Life Services.

W.O.W. Spooky To Be Hungry!

On October 22 & 23, costumed W.O.W. members (and spouses) will stand at the Main Gate and East gate to collect money for charity.  This event raised over $15,000 last year.

We’re excited to announce the Social Enrichment Event that will focus on topics such as nutrition, health and fitness.

Come join other women who need to  take time for themselves.  We all need “me time”!  October 22th  from 10:00am to 11:30am.  This event will be held at The Reserve Club and is free to W.O.W. members.

North Aiken Elementary Projects

W.O.W. has adopted North Aiken Elementary School and has developed two programs to help students.

W.O.W. is collecting books so each student can receive one for on his/her birthday.  Cash donations are also excepted!

For more information, click here. School Reading Program   W.O.W. is creating Personal Hygiene Bags containing items to be distributed by the school nurse, as needed.  Items needed are:  Body Wash, Shampoo, Conditioner, Deodorant, Body Wipes, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Hand Sanitizer and Lotion

This support group for caregivers of dementia patients is now back in full swing and will meet every third Thursday of the month.

Wine Groups

Two new W.O.W. wine groups have been formed

Swirling Sisters will meet on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm.

Wine & More will meet on the second Friday of the month at 3pm.

Wine Cellars will continue to meet on the second Sunday of the month at 4pm.

Christmas at Hopelands Gardens

W.O.W. is looking for volunteer more volunteers for the Christmas lights display at Hopelands Gardens on December 14 & 15 from 5:30 to 9:30pm.

The W.O.W Winter Luncheon will be held on February 11.   The keynote speaker is Jane Jenkins Herlong, an American humorist, author, speaker and the winner of the Miss South Carolina 1979 pageant.

The W.O.W. Spelling Bee Fundraiser will be held on March 9, 2022 at the Reserve.

John Malloy will emcee this event of eight spellers. Who have committed raised $1500 for lifelines.  This event will also include a night of donations, and a silent auction.

Garden Club

Elaine McGowan & Joan Kiburz are the new co-chairs of this important club.  They are developing the club program and will have a formal meeting in October.

Trash and Treasure is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Odell Weeks.  New, this year, will be a W.O.W. table for those of us who don’t have enough treasures for our own table.

All proceeds from the W.O.W. tables will be donated to the Cumbee Center.
