W.O.W. FriendRaiser Kickoff – A Success!

Over 200 ladies visited the various Community Outreach and Social Activities tables. They learned about the many events planned for the next nine months and signed up for interested opportunities.  We know there are more interested residents who would like to join the W.O.W.  Please get the word out to your Woodside neighbors and friends – we’ve made it very easy for them to join.  They simply have to visit our website at womenofwoodside.com and then join!

Local Students are “Aiken” to Read

North Aiken Elementary School needs books – hard back or soft back – new or gently used for students in Kindergarten thru 5th Grade.  Your donations will help children who are celebrating birthdays take home a Birthday Book on his or her birthday.  Many of these boys and girls have very few if any books in their home library.  To find out how you can help these children, please refer to the September 19th email sent to all W.O.W. members.  Thank you!

W.O.W. Fall Luncheon:  October 22nd

Our special guest and speaker will be Anne Campbell who’s talk is titled “Life in the Fast Track”.  It’s about her and her late husband, Cot’s, life in the thoroughbred industry.  Luncheon will be served At The Reserve Club – doors open at 11:30am with lunch being served at 12noon.  For further information to reserve your place, refer to the September 17th email sent to all W.O.W. members.

Honor Mission: Operation Mail Call

Veteran’s Day is fast approaching, and we are collecting written “thank you” cards and letters to distribute to veterans in Aiken’s nursing homes, home health care and hospice.  Many veterans have never even heard the words “thank you for your service”.  Imagine the joy that receiving a card would make for a veteran who is older, lonely, and feeling forgotten.  Our goal is to deliver 1,200 cards from W.O.W. and friends of W.O.W.  Accordingly, we need your help to ensure that every veteran is recognized with multiple cards of thanks.  For further informtion and details on how you can help, refer to the September 15th email sent to all W.O.W. members.
