W.O.W.’s Honor Mission collected just under 1000 cards from W.O.W. members and their friends and family, plus we had more than 400 cards from local school children.  As a result we were able to give each veteran a nice bundle of cards in honor of their service and sacrifice for our great country.  Our veterans were overwhelmed that strangers would take time to personally write out a brief thank you. One hospice patient received his cards and tearfully thanked the social worker who delivered them, saying that he now knows he will never be forgotten.  This man lives alone, has no family and the cards he received were likely the last he will ever receive.  He kept repeating “they remembered me, they remembered me”.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all our fabulous card and letter writers who supported our Veteran’s Day Operation Mail Call.   Watch for upcoming emails to find out how you can help write  Christmas cards for our veterans.
