MISSION STATEMENT

W.O.W., Inc. continues to serve the local community through fundraising and charitable giving.  W.O.W., Inc. also works to promote the enjoyment of its members through various social activities.

 

About Women of Woodside

Founded in 1988, the Women of Woodside, Inc. (W.O.W.) is the women's organization of Woodside Plantation.  Women of Woodside is dedicated to the well- being of the Aiken Community and its' fellow members. Recognized by the state of South Carolina as a not-for-profit organization, W.O.W. is a 501(c)4

Since its inception, W.O.W. has contributed in excess of $1.3 million dollars back to the Aiken area. It assists in supporting 30+ charitable agencies and organizations including Aiken Senior Life Services, Child Advocacy Center, Community Medical Clinic, Cumbee Center for Abused Persons, Golden Harvest Food Bank, Aiken SPCA, and the Aiken Wounded Warrior Project.

In addition to our fundraising and volunteering, W.O.W. plans and organizes various social activities and events for our members throughout the year such as the Enrichment Lecture Series, themed luncheons, a Progressive Dinner and Welcome Teas for new members and new residents. We currently have several book clubs, wine clubs, Bridge groups, an active Singles Group, Golf groups and an Out-to-Lunch-Bunch.

W.O.W. also supports our community's cultural programs both professional and academic.

Leading W.O.W. is an eight member Executive Board.  There is also a General Board comprised of members heading our many different committees.
